The Open Door is an independently owned Christian Bookstore in west-central Indiana. We are your #1 source for Christian books, Bibles, music, gifts, home decor, and so much more!

We have been proudly serving the Indiana and Illinois area since 1984. We can also sell and ship products all over the United States.

We offer laser engraving, Bible imprinting, and Bible rebinding services.

Our History

In the Spring of 1984  Doris Farmer opened a Christian bookstore in the Honey Creek Mall located in Terre Haute, IN. This original store was 1800 square feet. After 8 years in the mall, a move was made to larger quarters on the service road behind the mall called 3rd Place.This move allowed for expansion of stock and services.
In January of 1992  the OPEN DOOR moved into its new building of 7000 square feet. The store experienced a record growth, due mainly to its excellent reputation in the community, for wide selection and friendly sales staff.
In the Summer of 1994  The baton was passed to the next generation of the family to manage and oversee the continued growth of the store.
In the summer of 1998  Another 2000 square feet was added to the existing building allowing for more stock and services to be provided to the community.
In the Spring of 2008  The store was remodeled and a cafe became a part of the interior. The Gingersnaps Cafe has been a part of the continued success of creating an atmosphere of community and a relaxed shopping experience. We invite you to be a part of our growing experience.
