  • Luther And Katharina

    $18.00

Based on the 16th century romance of Katharina von Bora and Christian theologian and reformer Martin Luther, this novel plunges historical fiction fans into a turbulent time, where a strong man confronted the powerful Catholic church, and a courageous woman was called to love him.

Katharina von Bora has seen nothing but the inside of cloister walls since she was five. Like thousands of other monks and nuns, her deepest desires for love and family are awakened by the teachings of Martin Luther, a heretic monk who defies the pope and princes to condemn cloistered life and promote the goodness of marriage. In a daring escape, Katharina finds refuge with Martin Luther and seeks his help to pair her with the noble, wealthy husband she desires.

At a time in history when class tensions and religious conflicts are escalating toward the brink of war, Martin Luther believes that each day could be his last. He has no interest in practicing what he preaches and determines he will never take a wife. Katharina has no desire to marry beneath her status as a noblewoman. As the horrors of the bloody Peasant War break out around them, the proud Katharina and headstrong Martin Luther fight their own battle for true love, in one of the greatest love stories of history.

  • We Destroy Arguments

    $37.00

Have you ever had your faith challenged by an unbeliever to where you felt helpless and without an answer? If so, this book is for you. Whether the challenge comes from unsaved loved ones, co-workers, college professors, or TV personalities, you can be certain that such challenges will come to every Christian. Knowing this, the Bible commands every Christian to be ready. The purpose of this book is to help Christians to always be prepared to make a defense for the hope that is within them (1Peter 3:15). Yet, if we are to properly achieve this goal, then a particular type of defense is in order-a presuppositional defense. “We Destroy Arguments” gives you just that. When it is all said and done, Christians will learn how to make an irrefutable defense for the hope that is within them. Truly, this book is what Evangelicals have been waiting for. Stephen Feinstein is a pastor at Sovereign Way Christian Church in Hesperia, CA. His ministry focuses heavily on expositional preaching, biblical counseling, systematic theology, apologetics, church history, and practical theology. His goal is to help Christians become biblical people doing biblical things in the biblical way. He also is a United States Army Reserve chaplain.

  • Pastoral Theology For Public Ministry

    $30.60

For seminaries, those involved in lay and ordained ministries
    * Part of a growing conversation about the roles of ordained ministry
    * Taps into an increasing interest in the Church’s public presence in ministries like Ashes to Go

What does it mean to be engaged in Christian ministry in a shifting spiritual and religious landscape? Stephen Burns invites readers to think anew about the distinctiveness of public practices of pastoral presence. Rather than narrowly defining pastoral care and pastoral theology (pastoral counseling, preaching, youth groups, visits to elders, etc.) and theological academic categories (history, pastoral theology, liturgy, ethics, and contemporary sociology), he argues for a new imagination and practice of pastoral presence – a presence that is representative, public, integrated, and expansive.

For seminary introductory pastoral care and pastoral theology courses; those practicing Christian ministry; those seeking to understand more about what clergy and lay ministers do

  • Sent : A Working Resource For The Gospel Of John And The Letters Of John

    $30.60

Has John’s Gospel ever seemed an enigma-a wondrous and enticing enigma, but nonetheless puzzling? SENT provides a resourceful entree into John’s Gospel, that will be of encouragement to pastors, teachers, and small group leaders alike.
As a resource to John’s Gospel and the Letters of John, SENT seeks to combine the concluding statement of John 20 with Jesus’ affirmation of John 17:
“But these [signs] have been written in order that you might believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God,” the One who said, “As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.”
Given this combination, SENT addresses two questions: to whom was Jesus sent and with what message? Moreover, through the entree of John 17, Jesus’ “I AM” statements resonate profoundly, even as the voice of John’s Gospel echoes throughout the Letters of John. SENT provides Scriptural texts in Greek and English, study questions, and meditations. The format is simple: divided into workable parts, it follows the course of the “academic year” in conjunction with the Christian calendar. It may be used devotionally or as an aid to teaching and preaching.”

  • Forever Eric

    $31.93

I’m just an ordinary person who grew up in a simple life on a farm. As my life unfolded, I had no idea what was going to happen. Suddenly, my twenty-one-year-old son, Eric, was diagnosed with a rare, terminal cancer and was given two years to live. At the same time, my husband wanted a divorce-just six months after we’d relocated to Florida from Wisconsin, away from my family and friends.

Since I was raised with Christian values, I surrendered to God for help. I was scared and alone, and I let God lead me. I was taken on a journey guided by many people who came into my life and my son’s life. One of the greatest blessings was a special woman, Elizabeth, who came into my life to help me regain my spiritual life. Friends and good Samaritans also helped me through this confusing time.

Eric was also given blessings as he gave his life to the University of Wisconsin Cancer Research Department, hoping to help find a cure for cancer. As he was going through cancer research treatments, he continued his artwork. Some of the greatest gifts to him were the music and letters of hope from Jimmy Buffet, which filled Eric’s months with the strength to never give up.

This special colored edition features some of the gifted artwork that Eric gave to his family and friends before he passed away. They will now be enjoyed forever. You will also learn about what else he gave us during his short life. Come along with me, Eric, and my daughter, Lisa, as we find our way through the two-and-a-half-year journey before Eric passed away.
