Not Me : How To Prepare For Dangerous Encounters

Through Al’s class and this book, my friends and I have learned that we can’t ignore the fact that when it comes down to it, men can still physically overpower us. If we have something they want, they can come and take it. Even if we’re strong, we’re still at a disadvantage. However, we can prepare. There are ways to recognize risky situations and ways to get out of them when you find yourself smack-dab in the middle of danger. It’s scary to think about, but even scarier not to. It was a rude awakening for me, and many of my friends, and I’m thankful that Al taught us the tools we need to be safer. I never imagined you would have such an impact on me. I went on vacation…suddenly he was in the room with a machete…he was pulling down my jammie bottoms…I did what you told us to do…he ran immediately. I am fortunate not to have been raped or killed. I don’t know if I would have known what to do if it wasn’t for you. Thank you for your advice and love that helps keep women alive.
